![]() | "Iowa is still No. 1 in raising corn and beans in the world. But when it comes to workers, they know how to do more than produce agricultural products. You give them a job and give them the right tools, and they can do anything. They self manage. They are thinking people. You put them on a production floor, and they will prove it to you there." -Terry Kieffer, President |

Welcome to the JEDCO Web site! JEDCO, the Jasper County Economic Development Corporation, is a private, not-for-profit corporation, based in Newton, the county seat of Jasper County, Iowa. JEDCO is not a part of the county government, although it does receive funding from the county and maintains an office in the courthouse. JEDCO was formed in 1990 to provide economic development leadership and expertise to the smaller communities of Jasper County. JEDCO has assisted its member communities in development projects involving new business locations, existing business retention and expansion, new business start-up, housing, and tourism. JEDCO does own one industrial site, a 20-acre parcel located in the county seat of Newton. The site is well connected: just five minutes from I-80, Iowa Interstate Railroad's intermodal facility, and Newton's all-weather, ILS-equipped airport.
